Built in the late eighteenth century, this was the first woollen mill in Pudsey to use steam power in the fulling and scribbling process. The mill continued to thrive, moving on to produce worsted cloth employing up to 400 mill workers, but by the end of the nineteenth century Union Bridge Mill was in terminal decline. It has now been given a new lease of life as apartments and business units.
